Giving Back

Whether it’s with time or money, giving back to the community is a rewarding experience for our team. We support local organizations within our community by joining in their efforts to make a difference.

Project 44

One organization in particular has tugged on our hearts, and we want to encourage the community to give their support as well. Today, there is a severe shortage in foster homes for children who are torn away from their families. A safe and loving environment is no longer familiar to them, and social workers are struggling to find new homes that will create a sense of stability in these young lives.

In partnership with Foster Family and Adoption Services, Project 44 was created to recognize the Lake Tahoe Basin as an area of need. There are currently nine foster homes in South Lake Tahoe, California; however, 44 represents the number of homes needed to keep many more children near their relatives, no longer changing schools and established in a caring home.

When a child is taken away from their parents, loved ones, and homes, they are taken to an unfamiliar setting that can be frightening. At that time, the child is given a comfort box, filled with necessity and comfort items to help keep them occupied during the painful experience. There are several ways to donate to Project 44, including creating a comfort box or giving financially to help purchase clothing and other essential items for comfort boxes.
